Company Founder


Michael has been in the real estate business for over 30 years, getting his start as a commercial real estate agent in Calgary and Saskatoon. He has developed office, residential and hotel buildings in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Michael has also been the CEO of several publicly traded companies, with market caps in the hundreds of millions over the course of his career. He is passionate about building exciting, quality real estate projects which enhance and bring value to their surrounding neighbourhoods.
A humanitarian and great storyteller, Michael is a proud to captain the Quarry Bay Investment team as it develops and redevelops a variety of well-designed mixed use properties. Strong communities and people are important to Michael - he believes in supporting the local community including the arts and other charitable organizations.

Our President


Ken started his 40 year real estate career in the downtown commercial office leasing business mostly at the helm of his own company. This then lead him into creating another company that provided full service office space in four cities with 170,000 sf of inventory before selling out to an international competitor. Having leased over 4 million square feet during his career, some of his more notable advisory clients were Arc Resources, Vermilion Resources and Suncor Energy. During the past 6 years Ken was president of a private international family company that invested in, managed and developed properties in Calgary and Seattle, which included the 2 million sq ft Suncor Energy Centre in Calgary and a 440,000 sq ft residential project in downtown Seattle which is currently under construction. Ken's role at Quarry Bay will be to create investment/development opportunities through the numerous business relationships that he has developed during his career.

Richard oversees the sales, marketing and design of QBI’ s projects and actively contributes to the project planning , development and brand strategies. Richard has also founded a private real estate company and has been actively participating in British Columbia and Alberta real estate markets.

Born and raised in Calgary, Richard enjoys spending time with his family and being active and giving back to the community.

Divya is responsible for overseeing all finances and accounts for QBI and related companies. With a Masters in Commerce and 7 years experience in numerous business contexts, Divya brings youth, knowledge and experience to the team. Divya is pursuing her CGA designation to complement her already impressive educational background.

Divya Saleem

Jeannette has over 8 years of experience in the management and coordination of projects from land use and development permits through to construction management and final project acceptance. Jeannette Graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree at the University of Calgary and is a registered license member in both Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) and Project Management Professional (PMP). Her project development expertise include an array of commercial developments and municipal engineering projects of Fire Stations, Water Treatment Plant & Reservoir to Transportation Planning, and Public Relations. She is often described as a passionate leader who is not just focused on completing the tasks, but completing the entire project with genuine passion and enthusiasm for perfection.

Jeannette Lee

VP Developments



Grant holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge to our team. Grant gained his expertise from working in the Insurance, Land Investment and Land Development Sectors. He also brings invaluable experience in management and financial reporting, as well as project management.

Grant Sadler


Pam has worked for both public majors and private juniors, oil and gas organizations as well as in the not-for-profit sector. Looking forward to putting her experience and knowledge to good use, both with a high level of professionalism and a strong work ethic, Pam brings an attention to detail and good sense of humor to the position of Executive Assistant. Pam is keen to add her skills to an already exceptional team.
